My boyfriend and I have been together for nearly three months, and we live close enough to walk to each other’s apartments. We see each other most days, but there’s one thing that has started to bother me: he always comes over to my place.
At first, I didn’t think much of it. He said his apartment was a disaster and he was embarrassed to let me see it. But whenever I suggest going there, he finds a reason to say no. I’ve even offered to help him clean, and I’ve told him I don’t expect the place to be perfect. Nothing changes.

For me, the bigger issue is honesty. His apartment can be messy, but he should be able to explain what is going on instead of keeping part of his life hidden from you. A relationship gets difficult when one person feels they cannot trust the other.
