A reporter finds information about events and tells people what happened. Reporters work for newspapers, websites, radio, and television. They report on local news, sports, business, or other topics.

When something happens, a reporter tries to learn the important facts. They go to the place, watch what is happening, and talk to people. Reporters often interview people who saw the event or know about the topic. These people can be sources of information.

Reporters also check names, numbers, dates, and other facts. They may check information from more than one source. This helps them make fewer mistakes and give people the right information.

Then the reporter writes a story or prepares a report for radio or television. An editor checks the work before it is published or shown. Reporters try to explain what happened clearly and tell people where important information came from.
